You did a great job on the quilting, and I like your quilt - it should keep you nice and toasty warm when it gets colder.

Hi. Thank you for your kind comments. To answer your questions, I have a Janome 6600 too, so I SID all the long straight seams first on my Janome. Then I moved to the Sweet 16 and SID all the short interior seams, otherwise it would have meant turning the quilt a lot. I found it was almost too big to get to the center of the quilt on the Janome, so I'm thankful to have the S16 to do anything more than SID on a big quilt! On the actual quilting part beyond the SID, I marked the quilt borders' lines/squares which included an outline of the little 'flower' motifs in the squares, I marked the lines in the big diamond blocks in the quilt interior to keep me on track with the lines and I marked 'x's in the blue and purple squares as a guide for quilting the flowers. The rest was all free hand. The border marking was the most intensive, but it saves a lot of time when it's marked as you know exactly where to quilt next when it's drawn out ahead of time. I love my S16 and being able to use rulers and have so much space to work with the big quilts. It really does make it way more manageable. I don't think I would be able to be as creative on my Janome with a quilt this size. Hope this answers your questions :-).
