I'll be honest with you -- I've never seen a necktie quilt before...and thought the idea was crazy but I LOVE this one!!!! Keep going -- I want to see a whole quilt out of it!!! I have a vision of it together with red sashing!!!

    Thanks for the size!

It could be you aren't falling in love, as you are thinking traditional dresden plate (white background, light prints). Try moving it to a darker background.

I'm not the best at visualizing possibilities, though I think black would be too much. Maybe a taupe? or a dark grey? even a red? perhaps a batik?

It'll somewhat depend on how many more colours your other ties are going to bring forward.

I think it's going to be one beautiful quilt!

You don't get a lot of choice when it is neckties. But I think that center is wonderful and really pulls them all together.

I love it! If they are ties family members have worn it would be a great 'remember when' quilt...

Beautiful! My question would be can you do that using Wonderunder. I want to make one but don't do applique.

Looks beautiful to me. I'm sure when you find the right background color, it will really pop out and you will love it. Great job - I love dresden plates.
