That is a lovely quilt. I have a box of my Dad's ties and haven't had the heart to cut them up yet but I will keep your post and remember this pattern. Did you unassemble the ties and iron them out? Thanks for sharing pictures of your quilt.

Great job! I also have my Dad's ties waiting to go into a quilt. I am still not ready to do it but using the pointed end for a fan block looks easy. Maybe this year...?

Sooo,I have no idea why I posted two sets of photos....the ties were donated to my quilting group. They were machine washed and dried, cut apart and stitched 180 of them! It was on my bucket list to do a quilt from ties: I'll donate it to the Sr.Center to auction. It was a fun quilt...lots of silk, vintage designs to play with.

After washing and drying the ties( can you believe they were dry cleaned unnecessarily?),My quilting group spent an evening cutting( not unsewing) them apart...requiring a little wine to relax our shoulders,of course! I really loved looking at the vintage silks. I couldn't believe how well they washed and dried.

That turned out great! I have finished my top but haven't done anything else to it. It's on my list!
