I think I would add a border to the first one. They are pretty.

    Sometimes men are just scallywags.

Love your quilts. The sunset could just be 'birthed'. A binding of the pieced fabrics from the quilts' colors would also look nice.

Now that I have read everyone's comments, I have to agree with 'chickadee55'. And 'Can I make a red & white bowtie like yours'?

I think it looks wonderful as is but if you want a border an inner border of the red and a larger border with the taupe color would look good. Actually, any of the above suggestions would work. Depends on what pleases you. It's a gorgeous quilt and your friend will love it no matter what you do.

The red/white is just wonderful. Love them both.

Try a narrow black border for the first quilt and then one of the other colors for a larger border. Beautiful.
The bow tie quilt is gorgeous.

I now have decided to finish the sides of the quilt with the sunset colors then do a border of the green print then do a binding with all of the sunset colors. Thank you for all of your comments and advice. I will take a picture of it when it is done.
Of course, Quilter68 can make a quilt like mine. I know as a teacher I always "steal" ideas from others. We are the best "sharers" in the world.
