Need advice please.

I too love the "washed out one". It an heirloom quality to it. If it was a different block maybe the darker one, but the DWR lends itself to the more tone on tone look. I think it is beautiful and with the right quilting it will be even more stunning. Just my opinion. Good luck and let us know what you decide please.

I really like the addition of the lighter "splatter dotted" pink. It adds just the right amount of contrast. I would also be frightened about the darker red bleeding into the white with washing. You can't count on the recipient to use colour catchers everytime she washes it.

I am making this DWR quilt. The fabrics have been approved by the recipient, however, as I progress with the blocks I am feeling concerned by the sameness of the top. It seems a bit insipid/washed out, if you know what I mean?
Because of this I auditioned 2 different tone pinks to see if it helped. I thought it did to a point, but one was too dark, the other was the tone of pink that seemed to clash with the junction triangles.
With quilting I think it will look better than it does now, and my DH feels it's fine as it is.
Would you be kind enough to express your opinions please as which way I should go.
