I personally think anything but a plain border will detract from the intricacy of your design. I think it is beautiful. With a plain border, you can do some decorative quilting too!

I think a 5 or 6 or wider borde in the light contrasting colour would make it seem as if the quilt were floating and be quite dramatic and lovely, you could then di a 3/4" or 1" binding in one of the darker batik colours.

I received this fabric today it is not like I thought It was to be a BATIK and well it was a Batik want to be I will say I love it better than if it had been a batik. The colors with the ebay picture looked more rust/light blues well they are actually greens and browns my husband says it might just work. I am going to work up a small tester border to see if i like it.
I cannot tell you all how much I appreciate your kind words and very helpful suggestions. I also ordered more fabric from a wonderful board member it has the chocolate brown with some light pink rose pattern that I think will also work. I swear I have never had this problem before!!

Hello I have posted this before but I for the life of me cannot figure out how to do the border. I tried to do piano key style didn't look good. I just cannot figure out what it needs. the blue is like a sky blue almost looks like clouds in the pattern.
