    Although I like all your concepts, I like the option #1. It compliments the center and does not take away from it.

    My favourite is #4 - I like how the dark browns frame the inner quilt.

    I just showed my DH these photos and he thinks it doesn't need a border at all. The block does have a border kind of built in and I could bind in the darkest brown batik fabric. Thoughts?
