Your Pooh quilt is very nice. If you can use some tables at your local library or church, that works so good as you can stand to pin it.

Your quilt is lovely! So snuggley! I like wool batting. Very expensive! (Try to get it on sale.)
I think the biggest problem you had was trying to line up front borders & back borders. I've never been able to do that. Next time you might try to have your backing all 1 piece or randomly pieced, so that the quilting doesn't affect it.

Maybe when the quilt is washed it will all pucker up nice and even. I would be proud to have mine turn out as nice as you did.

I've used spray basting with a lot of success. Your quilt is adorable and I'm sure the grandson will love it no matter what.

If you can stickytape the backing layer on the floor and follow as per normal. I had the same situation and had to improvise on a smooth surfice cos carpet is tooooooo soft. Hope this will help.

i forgot to add I love your quilt I remember many a days watching Pooh when my kids were younger. It really is darling i love how you put the squares on point, I still haven't tried that, he's going to cherish that!!

use basting spray, no pins needed. Lay an old sheet on the floor then make your quilt sandwich making sure it's nice and flat, pull back the top layer half way, give it a light spray of the basting spray then smooth it back over the batting, do the same for the other half of the front...then pull back the batting and the top and do the same. Doesn't matter if you do the bottom first, whichever is easiest for you. Basting spray is my new best friend, I'll never pin again. Good luck

I am not able to get on my knees due to injuries so I learned the hanging method. I hang it on the cloths line outside ,it it is too windy or cold I use the shower rod ,or move my couch and use the wall.

I agree with Sue - your quilt is adorable and will be loved. As for cardboard under the quilt, another choice is to slide your cutting mat under the quilt, on top of the carpet so you don't pin to the carpet.
