I see no reason why you can't continue on the way you are and make it as big as you want. Looks to me like the blocks are meant to connect, no matter how many you add or subtract.

Beautiful. You could try making the same block with the colors reversed and lay it between two of the ones you already have. I think it could develope an interesting look.

I tried that, but it took away the optical allusion of the center star...It is kind of like a 3-d star and you can't see that from the picture.

I like these blocks very much and I think making a large quilt with many of these same blocks would be fine. You could do sashing if you want to break up the patterns if you want.

Whatever you do, you are going to love it!!!

Play around with those 4 blocks. Say upper left is block A, upper Right B, and lower left C, lower right D. the units are A1 A2 A3 A4, etc.

What if the pivot was not quite 90 degrees?

    turn so the points touch:

    A2 to B3
    A4 to C1
    B4 to D1

and I didnt write this one down, but probably C2 to D3.

your joiner pieces would be much smaller. Yes, you'd lose that star in the middle of the four.

    Just wonderin' :-D
