Pretty quilt. I agree I'm the same way when it comes to it screaming yes. That border does not do that for me but..... what I would lean towards if it were mine would be a very scrappy border just like the little 8 patch blocks you have in the quilt but in the border width you are wanting on the quilt though. Assuming you have that much left over scraps. Keep us posted. I wanna see what you decide.

First let me say your quilt is lovely and lots of time and work put into it.
The border fabric, doesn't do it justice. I think the print is too busy.
remember I'm not an expert...just my opinion...

I like this idea. It brings the lightest color in the center out , ads the continuity of the sashings, plus ads the colors of the blocks... I think you will be happy with this.

I agree that the border is too busy. I would look for a softer print or a solid. Your quilt is very pretty!

Your quilt is beautiful, and I would definitely put a solid border on before adding your other "busier" fabric. It looks like it is "fighting" with your fabrics in your beautiful squares.

I made a scrappy and used 3" squares pieced together for the border. I looked great. You could try that.

I see the majority, so far, disagrees with me. LOL Well, I tend to think outside the box, so am used to that. Since your sashings are all rather plain, I think a solid border would be a bit . . . well, plain. For me, the floral border brings it alive. Maybe a narrow, dark blue border, between the two . . . but I'd definitely keep that floral!
ME also I like it right away. But my DH says i'm quirky.....but a keeper just the same.

I can't comment about the border but your quilt is beautiful. Very well done.

I agree with Lori, you want to take all the time you need finding just the right fabric to frame all your hard work, which is lovely! I think a narrow darker blue inner border would be perfect, then the outer border.

Piano keys is my first thought too. Using all the colors already used in this very colorful and bright quilt to frame it, then maybe bind it with the same blue you sashed with.
