Need your help with an Easy Jelly Roll Quilt Gone Wrong!
#1
I started this easy jelly roll quilt last year for one of our twins. His favorite color is purple so that is why I picked this.
I am just not one that has gotten use to scrappy but thought this would be a good way to wean myself to it. So, when I got all of the strips together I was so bummed. I don't know if I should cut down each section and then reattach or what?
Have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Well it looks a little like piano keys to me. What does the young man himself think? Maybe else add a narrow white border all the way around and then add the green binding. I looks rather modern to me. The only one that seems off to me is the one green one on the right. It should be in the middle maybe? But I sometimes like adding a block that is a rebel.
Doesn't it look odd to you with the colors all on one side without the white though?

To make a simple change and balance it out a little more, cut off about 1/2 side to side where you have the green and purple stripes without white and attach those to the other end where the stripes are white and purple. Leave the one green stripe (amongst the white and purple "row") where it is. Just as individuals are, quilts can be unique too. You could do a piano key border in the purple, greens, and white and then either bind it with a green or purple. Or you could just bind it with a scrappy binding using all the purples, greens, and white. Look forward to seeing what you wind up doing. I am sure your son will love it no matter what you do to finish it up - cause his Mom made it just for him.

I like it but for a quick "fix" to your self proclaimed "problem" I would cut 1/3 off the right side (according to the picture) flip it upside down so the bottom now becomes the top, then sew it onto the LEFT side of the quilt where there is no white!
like this sorry for the horrible paint job. Photoshop is hiding in my bedroom.

Justwannaquilt has right idea. My suggestion would have cut the green and purple in half and sew it to the opposite side. Which one do you like the most. Green and purple on either ends or the purple on both ends. It depends on the person.
