This is a prototype of a new design idea. It still needs two more rows but you get the idea. I have plenty of the 1930s fabric to do something with it in the border. What should the border look like? I have had several ideas: 1) A two inch cream strip and then four inches of piano keys. 2) 6 inches of cream with appliqued hearts scattered around on the border.

What do you think about borders? And is this a pattern you would consider purchasing? That is if I ever start publishing. -Sage

Its cute! I think I would go for the applique hearts, or maybe just leave it with nuetral tonal not solid.

I would go with the #2 border. I think it is a very pretty quilt. Love the bright colors!

I would float the design with a small border of background fabric then do a small border of color to frame it before the piano keys. If you float it first, then you won't have any of the color of the hearts touching any color of a border. This way the design is defined. The eye doesn't blend them together.

    It is a cool pattern
