Welcome to St. Louis MO. The zipper quilt is beautiful! I am a new quilter myself and don't think I would have taken this one on. Congratulations!

    Hi Heather,
Welcometo the board from nevada. You are going to just love it here. Lots to see and inspire. Many persons to help with any type of sewing questions.

I have never seen a zipper quilt so I am fastinated by it. It is hard to find a quilt that a man would enjoy but, I think you found it with this one. (Or persons with a modern type home.)

I also enjoy sewing gifts, accessories, home deco and clothing. It cuts into my quilting time, but, I suppose, the rewards are worth it. LOL!

I'm so glad to meet everyone and thanks for the compliments!

My tastes are all over the map but my partner is very very modern and very very picky so I tried to pick a quilt pattern that he would actually like as it's going to be in our bedroom. He's not keen on quilts at all but he does actually like this one, so success! Although, to be honest, after all the work that went into that Zipper top, it would be on the bed whether he liked it or not!

If people are looking for different designs, I would totally recommend the modern quilt workshop book:
    http://www.amazon.com/Modern-Quilt-W...7114818&sr=8-1

Lots of cool patterns in there.

And this Denyse Schmidt book has lots of interesting projects too:

I have this book too but haven't done any projects from it yet.
