I think labeling everything as you go is important. I labeled strips--labeled rows that were together--labeled baggies with partial row parts... I also used four sticky notes to border the row requirements as I went so I wouldn't look on the wrong row and make an error. Triple checking everything is also important. Sometimes the pieces will go on 17-19, but other times it may be 19-17--so triple checking is vital. The chart with the colors numbered is a MUST. I never would have been able to do this with my old machine because the 1/4" seam wasn't consistent. That seam is another vital part. There are a few squares that on't line up perfectly--but usually only 2 out of a row of 49. Not too bad.....
I found I needed four less strips of one width, but two more of two others...there just wasn't enough of the partial rows to make what I needed for the last few. But, I saved every scrap, so it wasn't a problem. There are lots of leftover partial rows in some widths... I have strips cut for a second, so I'll most likely be able to use some for that.
I'll start getting those rows together!
