I have a computerized quilting machine and even I could not do what you do with a needle and thread in your hands. Absolutely beautiful.

Andrea, your work is absolutely beautiful. My SIL is from Germany and she also does unusually beautiful handwork. It seems that ladies from Germany have been taught to be perfectionists and typically their needlework is breat-taking. At least, the several ladies I have known have all exhibited the same quality of work. MY SIL purchased a quilt top from ebay that was so sad looking. When she finished it, I could not believe it was the same top!!! I admire her work so very much. She loves to restore damaged pieces. Sure wish she lived closer so I could learn more from her.

Born to hand quilt is a great "title" for you and, as I have mentioned so many times, you are the best. Personally, I have never seen such exquisite work--hand or machine quilting. It is truly a gift and you use that gift to its "fullest." Would love to have you sitting beside me, showing me every stitch. :-)

Thank you! But I think we a similar situation here in Germany than in other countries: some peope are very talented with a craft etc, other are not. And of course not everybody is a perfectionist! It is still said some of the "German virtues" are discipline and perfection and maybe it is still true - but as always you can't lump it together!
Many of the schools stopped teaching crafts in the elementary schools, therefore most kids don't learn it anymore - unless there is somebody in their family who practice it and can teach them!
