Looks like you did a great job with this one. Your points match up beautifully and these colors go together perfectly.

Jenny Beyer has a free class at Craftsy.com She goes into color theory. at the beginning. Shows you how to hand piece. I'm pretty new to quilting my self this is a Block of the Month. Every month you make one block. This quilt is just beautiful. I have see a lot of BOM quilts but just didn't like them. I'm making this one my self you can order the kit or use your stash. She shows you how to pick your color pallet. Check it out costs nothing.

Welcome to the board! Your quilt is great and sure doesn't look like a first one to me! I, too, have trouble with matching fabrics and that is the reason I like to buy kits. Connecting Threads has reasonably priced quilt kits (usually several on sale) and they give you plenty of fabric in their kits. Keep up the great work!

Welcome to the board! Great looking quilt. Small tip; Look at the selvage edge of the fabric, most of the time you will see a guide bubbles for coordinating colors for fabric. Cyber space is full of ideas and this QB is also.

Before I gained any confidence about color, integration of scale and a host of what seemed to be insurmountable intangibles that go into making a well thought out quilt; I found that if you pick a designer that you like and buy fabrics within their collections that most of the fabrics will integrate well. I gravitated to Jo Morton and used a major amounts of different fabrics in my first quilt and when it was done and quilted, I can still stand back and none of the fabrics scream MISTAKE! The biggest error is to doubt yourself; after all it is your money, time and talent that will transition your purchases into a finished quilt and unless you dress yourself daily to the horrified stares of others, you probably have better color sense than you think.
