I hear ya! We moved out of a house we lived in for 33 years into a house in another state. I had sewing stuff in every room of that house. And I taught sewing one period a day as a volunteer in the high school I worked in as a Registrar and owned EVERYTHING in my classroom so we moved not only all the stuff scattered all over the house, but a classroom as well. We found a house with a 250 sq. ft. room that I could make a sewing studio - mine, all mine. It was so overwhelming putting stuff away, sometimes I just sat an stared at all of it. When I did take my pictures to post, I moved some of the clutter out so it would look really neat, then I moved the clutter back in so it looked real.

I love your space. You have so many neat nooks and crannies and everything looks so conveniently situated. I hope you have many years of creative craziness to enjoy in there!

Thanks for sharing your new quilt room with us. Your pictures have given me a lot of neat ideas for my room and a friend of mine who has a ceiling tilted-in like yours. Great idea - those wooden hoops!

Silverware is overrated! I was in the military and, as a result, moved ALL THE TIME. My trick was to make sure all the bathroom stuff was clearly labeled when it was packed - when we got our stuff, the first thing I would do was to unpack the bathroom. It was quick and easy, and I always had a room in which I could "hide" and pretend every room in the house was done.

I also have a question. Do you have any problems cutting with your cutting mat on top of your pressing board? I'm considering this set up, but was wondering if the pressing board would be too soft under the mat. It's working for you?

    thanks and enjoy your room!

Love the way all of your tools are visually displayed, so you always know where they are. You really make a great case for peg boards and wall clips. (Can you tell how much time I spend hunting for stuff under stuff.) I think your cave is perfect! Enjoy!
