Pam, he still feels guilty about burning the old one (it was on the stove and he turned on the wrong burner). He offered to order one from the Harrod's website for me (which is where the original tea cozy was from) but I told him not to bother, especially after my mom mentioned that she had a liner.

I make my own oven mitts. Hubs is always burning the tips of them. ??? Don't know how he does that.

My DH always coats the potholders and oven mitts with spaghetti sauce. ?? Personally, I use a spoon to stir...

Wow, I love that fabric. Don't let my DD see it. She loves polka dots.

Just curious, what do you use for the liner -- the same thermal that we use for pot holders?

When I make the oven mitts I use old placemats, the quilted ones, place couple layers those and couple layers of recycle material and then the heat shield fabric for the palm/fingers and thumb area. The seams around them mitt and wrist areas are closed in bias that I make to match or coordinate the mitts. Only seam that doesn't get bias is where the thumb meets the rest of the mitt. I can't remember now where I got the pattern but it's one I have used for years and years. It never fails, hubby uses them and burns the tips, they just don't seem broke in until he uses them. He has stirred any sauces with them yet. Matter of time.

What a bright tea cozy! I can send my DH over to see what he can destroy so you can redo the rest of your kitchen, just kidding! He's all thumbs in the kitchen!
