I had an idea of a 3-D pinwheel to put in a round robin quilt I had to work on and couldn't find directions, but this is what I came up with.

I did try to write up directions, but maybe this is something everyone else is familiar with.

What happens to the folded pieces when the quilt is washed? Are they sewed together? Just wondering.... :?

I haven't washed it but the folded pieces are a square folded into a triangle, stitched on on side, turned so that the fabric is right side out and then sewn down on the half square triangle.

I have studied other 3-D pinwheels but they were different than what I wanted.

That is so neat! Kinda a flip-floppy pinwheel! Your quilt is great with the red and white, wonderful job!
