My DH and I own a little online shop with hand quilting supplies here in Germany and our wholesaler just completed his assortment with the bamboo and a soy brand. It's sold by Pellon and the brand is called Legacy.
The batting needles easy, almost like a thin cotton batting and the look is also very similar, quite flat. But I like it that way! The batting is very fluffy and soft and it's wonderful to touch - but I think it's better not to use with dark fabrics. It's not bearding - but the fibres of the outer edges which are not covered by the fabric are distributed over the whole quilt. They are easy to brush of after finishing the quilt.
I would use it again - but only with light colored fabrics.
