New York Roundabout Again
The pattern is "New York Roundabout Again by Sew Karen-ly Created.
I wanted to make something to enter into our Quilt Shows Blue and White Challenge section. When I saw this pattern I was hooked!
It was my first attempt at curved piecing, and it was much easier than I expected. However that is only the first part of the challenge. Once the pieces were stitched together I then stitched in the ditch around all the blocks. However I wanted to free motion quilt the top. I have never done any free motion quilting but I wanted that finish. I started practicing on quilt sandwiches but quickly got bored and decided to just "go for it" I started with the feather on the blue spotty material drawing around a coin to give me a shape to follow and from there I just carried on filling in the sections on the quilt.
Needless to say I am pleased with the quilt and I won the Blue and white Challenge at the show!
