I agree-- i wantt to get started now but people want to know... What is the length of that first strip and overall size of finished quilt? Thanks to all for sharing. I am jazzed again with sewing and that is a good thing for me.

Glad you like it. Happy to pass along the info for this one.
First I should tell you I didn't want to piece a back for it, so that is why it's 42" wide. This made the length 56" long.
The starting strip was approx 17 3/4".
I just winged it on how long that starting strip should be.
If I were to do it again, it would probably be just a bit shorter.
Have fun, I enjoyed working on it. I'd add strips then hang it up for a while to look at it before deciding what to add next. :-P

I love this one! Great job. Can you decribe how you went about adding the strips?
