    Default Northern Lights

Just finished another strip study quilt. This one is crumb block and orphans and other left over bits from blocks and strip sets. Because it has really bright bits and pieces I've named it Northern Lights - it sort of reminds me of the Alberta sky when we were out there many years ago.
All machine pieced and quilted. FIRST time with a LOT of FMQ. I can see my improvement so I guess I'll keep it up.
It has been donated to a resident in a local nursing home - again in memory of a neighbour's son killed in Afghanistan in 2010.

VERY nice quilt and I love the fact that you are donating it to the nursing home in memory of your neighbor's son.
