I too like the triangles, besides when the ship is at sea, the water is choppy and moves the ship, so the triangles cannot all be the same or perfect. They look great too me.

It is a Buggy Barn quilt and my 5yr old has been asking me if it was done yet since I first started collecting the fabrics. Will it ever be done? I don't want to have to fight with the triangles and the border, but if I don't put on a border, the binding will be a pain. These pics were all taken before the epic battle to add the triangles to the blocks. And I changed the layout a bit. Now the blues backgrounds are where the red ones were in these pics. I will post pics after I get off my butt and finish the stupid thing!
I finally finshed the Chubby Chick...and I feel your pain!!!!!!!!!!!

I like your quilt...I think it looks just great!

The "mistakes" add to the quirkiness. Love it and finish it. don't obsess. In fact it's the non-perfections that makes a quilt perfect!
    You are exactly right.

I just finished Buggy Barn's Santa Baby for a quilt shop model. In my opinion, their measurements aren't always accurate. They should be, but I have never had one of their patterns that I haven't had trouble with. And I too, love the wonky look your triangles add.

I love the sailboats! And the triangles do match them very nicely. The overall effect is bright and fun and perfect for your 5-year-old.

No child looks at the sewing, they only love it because mommy or grandma made it for them. I know I made a quilt for my grandson and fretted about the sewing and he was so excited that it was from me. Cute, cute quilt.

You are so right, Treeseek. They just love it because you made it. And thanks! The top is done now and I posted a pic under "finished Ben's Sailboat quilt" or something like that. I am so glad that part is over! Now I can concentrate on getting some stuff quilted.
