Default Not a quilt or quilt block

I finished a quilt a week ago, and needed to do something different. So I dragged out a McCalls pattern for a purse and modified it, a lot. I used the front and back but changed the side panels. I added shoulder straps versus the handles in the original pattern. Inside has a zippered lining pocket and a regular pocket. It is small but I like smaller purses.

Hope you guys get a chance to check it out.

So feminine and summery with the light blue and white stripes. Nice job on your re-make too. Purses are so fun to make.

Thanks. It is about 8 inches wide by 6 inches tall, and 3 1/2 inches depth. I haven't used it but this is the second one I have made, with a few changes. The first one I use daily, and it works out well for me.

I tend to like smaller purses but not particularly clutches, so it is hard to find something I like in retail. And I really don't want to pay a bunch, unless it was exactly what I wanted. I used to go out looking for them all the time, all kind of stores and brands. I have one brand I really like for their hardware, but they changed their styles a little, and the purses aren't quite right for me.

Do you use vinyl or leather? I may end up trying faux leather next but not sure how that will work out.
