Exactly. The contrast *within* the floral print is too large for the block design. Perhaps if you had used a darker green print with a smaller design in it, then put the larger floral print around it as a border, you'd have liked it better.

    Still, pretty.

i agree with sue ellen. seems symmetry is off. however, i feel it is the diff between the large print on the green versus the very small print on the white. now for the good news. i still like it. the colors are great and the fabrics are great. this is a pretty pattern. i certainly wouldn't have any problems using it if it was mine.

I couldn't put my finger on it until I read all the responses. I love the mirror image of it all - it is so cool :) I do think it's the print sizes in the two. I would not chuck this one though as it is really really pretty :) I would put a small accent - like 1/2" small in red around the first part then the two borders as is then maybe bind it in red. That would be really sharp imho. Okay, I think oddly I know. I think I'd take off the borders on this one and give it a go.

how about adding a binding in the red color or a black one.

I love the colors but I think that what you may not be liking is the poinsettias jumping out at you

I love that mirror effect, and the softer colors are soothing, nice for a quiet romantic Christmas dinner!

I love the colors and the fabrics. It's pretty as is. I wondered if what you are seeing are the two green center triangles that have some of the red flower in them. All the others are just green. That's my take on it. But if it were me, I'd leave it alone. It's great as it is.
