O Wise Ones...What Would You Do?

Just an opinion -- Great quilt - lots going on. I have learned if I want to show off special quilting, I have to leave space or more open areas for my long arm quilter to work. If this were mine, I might try some crosshatching Whatever you decide, I think it will be wornderful.

it didn't take that long...I really enjoyed doing it. I called it my aerobic quilt because there was a lot of up and down of sewing, then cutting off pieces and sewing on a shorter strip, cutting, sewing, etc.
I always feel so wonderfully frugal when I go into my scrap boxes and make use of those scraps I cannot bring myself to toss. Don't know why, but my favorites always seem to be scrappy.

Oh wow it is gorgeous!
What about varigated thread and doing like a floral or feathers in the color squares part--but not tight quilt, keep it loose. I don't know about the rest but I can see that in the squares.

very nice job. i think curves on straight lines and vice verse are always the most interesting. you have straight lines.
having said that and knowing you're a starter, why not mark out circles on the blocks with a washable or disappearing pen using a dish for the template? that will give you some practice on round shapes. on the sashing you might choose a simple curved line, the kind that you'd use for a vine, but without the leaves, again a practice curve. if you haven't chosen a backing yet, choose a print so that you don't feel you have to be perfect, and i used variegated thread for my first few quilts.
because the colors are so rich, whatever you do, it will be a beauty.

What a pretty scrap quilt! I love the cheery colors, and the brown ties it all together. I would definitely SID to stabilize the quilt, then maybe feathers in the sashing, big flowers in the blocks?
