    The repeat was 24 inches on the nose, and since you want to use 6 repeats for a lap sized quilt I got a little over four yards. Which was a good thing, since they only had 5 to begin with I got the remnant just in case I wanted to fussy cut something.

    I was actually thinking of doing that! I have one full print of the dragon left in my scraps, and once I have the money for an applique book I'm going to give it a shot. It's funny how one fabric will catch people's eyes. :) I'm going to have to find a picture of their version, I'd be very curious to see how we differ.

    I used the book One Block Wonders by Maxine Rosenthal--she's basically the queen of this type of quilt. I highly recommend you pick it up if you want to do an OBW, it is very clear and straightforward on how to go about making these kinds of quilts.
