I have found 2 fabrics that I think will make good OBW's but since I have never really tried doing them I would like your opinion on both of these, please.

The other question: is there a "standard" size for the OBW's blocks? or Do you make the block according to the designs in the fabric to get the effect you want?

not sure if these are to small but I think they would look really cool

now this one has lots of color and the main reason for getting this one is the couple that will end up with it, her favorite color is purple and his is red

I'm having a hard time picturing the first one in my head, but the second one would be great

    Ooooohhh - these are pretty!

One way to 'preview' how the fabric might look in an OBW, is to use the set of mirrors (there are 2 pieces, stuck onto some felt-like stuff so you can change the angle) - you end up with the kaleidoscope effect.

With the top fabric, there are quite a few very similar shapes, but there are a few little circles and leaves, so you should get some interesting effects.

The bottom fabric should really work out well in an OBW.

I agree the second one would be great. Just make sure you have enough for the 6 repeats you need

I like both of them. They would each give different effects but both would be great.
