    It might be somewhat bright, but it an absolutely wonderful quilt - love the colors and the kaleidoscope bocks.

    I started out fussy cutting but saw that a lot of fabric was wasted so I decided not to do them that way since I didn't have but 3 yards of the fabric.
    My finished blocks are 12". I just cut 6 1/2" strips, making sure that the patterns lined up. The fabric had a 13" repeat on it, so I cut 2 strips to start off with. Then I had to trim a bit off and re-aline the fabrics so I got the same cuts. I did this for 8 strips of each design. Then I cut out the triangles as you would normally do. Some of the patterns I got this way were not what I would have done if I had done the fussy cutting but all in all they weren't that bad so I was ok with them.

    The fabric that I used could have been done with much more interesting patterns if I had done them the fussy cut way but I was not sure I had enough fabric to do that. I don't know how to calculate the fabric for doing it either but I'm sure someone here on the board should know.
