It's going to Afghanistan, I got a call from my oldest son saying he needed a few for some of the locale families there that have nothing.

I just had a bad thought. Is a stained glass window look upon as a religious thing? If so I can not send this quilt because it would probable be looked at offensively by someone. We are not suppose to send anything to suggest religion or look like a pig. It's just one of the things that they object to and no sense in starting a riot or something.

Well to tell you the truth, I went to the fabric store to buy some fabrics for the soldier quilts but before going I saw some of the OBW here on the board and thought I'd like to try doing one.

Anyway, while at the store I looked around and couldn't find anything that I though would work. One of the ladies there that I know really well seemed to sense I was not finding what I was looking for so we got to talking and she asked me if I ever considered using the upholstery fabrics. I told her I hadn't because I only use 100% cotton and didn't think that would work. She corrected me and said they had 100% cotton upholstery fabrics and there were several on sale.

So we both got to looking through the sale table and sure enough there it was. Not exactly my type of colors but for $1 a yard it was worth the investment to see how it would work out. So now you have the rest of the story. LOL
See this was totally an accident ready to happen.

It turned out beautifully - like a stained glass window. The blue was the perfect touch around those bright colors.
