    Default OD green

DH asked me to make a quilt for his friend who just had a second back surgery. DH specified the quilt should be OD green, reflect the friend's military career (disabled Vietnam vet), places he lived, and amateur (ham) radio. I wasn't quite sure how to get all that, so here is the result. I copied his rank insignia and enlarged it and we ordered the purple heart patch on line, then I machine appliqued them on the top. I used my Brother PE770 embroidery machine to put the gentleman's last name, retirement rank, and radio call sign on the top. The quilt is backed with camouflage fleece and it is all fmq'd with "hero" words, the countries where he was stationed, stars and hearts. I made a pillow case to match. I hope the gentleman likes it. What do you think?

    Thanks for looking.

How could he not like it? It seems to be a perfect reflection of him. Good job.
