Oh goodness this is too darling! I love it. The nice thing about the circle remplet is that ou can see though it for the fussy cutting. I think I will get one. Thanks so much girls! You are really enablers. LoL!
Dang it! They wouldn't add to my order from last night. Oh well, the shipping wasn't bad, under four dollars. This is a fun project, bev. Good call! I think I might try and add the batting while sewing the circles, then it will have some loft to it. What do you think? Will it work?

Red, I was wondering about this and had posted just before you...I am thinking if you cut the wadding square, just abit bigger than the central section where you join each 'petal', might be better. This way the 'petals won't be too bulky to fold over, what do you think?? :D

That is what I was wondering too izy. The circle would have to be trimmed down (graded) to eliminate the bulk. I am thinking a light warm and natural might work, if you were using quilting cotton weight material. Does it all get real bulky after you get the blocks together?

I haven't tried it yet Red, just in the planning stage.....in other words I was mulling it over and probably didn't explain myself very well, so will try again.
If you can imagine drawing a square on the circle, the lines will be your stitching lines when you place two completed circles together...
Well if you make the batting 1/4" bigger than this square then when you stitch each circle together you will catch the wadding...OR maybe do the central quilting first before you join each circle and then you can just make it the size of the square....rambling again sorry :D

Not rambling at all Izy, that is how I work things through too. I am wondering if you were careful if placinga square in after turning it, if the cross (X) would hold it into place? Maybe the curved seams would take care of the ends ?? I think maybe a placemat sized trial is in order here. Then I could wash it to see what happens.
