    I'd say that's a great idea and the eight-pointed star is one of my favorite blocks to make. Very nice block.

    I love it. BTW, I do exactly the same thing when I just feel like semi-mindless sewing. I've also made both sawtooth star and friendship star using crumb units for the foreground.
