That is the Singer 24 Chain stitch that was made in 1900.

Believe it or not that is an industrial machine.

We believe it was used for making hat bands in NY and it had so much use that the arm bar was cracked in 5 or 6 places. So I had to find one of those and believe me that was not fun at all LOL.

So where DID you find it? My daughter acquired an OLD treadle (Ruby) today. The guy who was helping to unload it DROPPED it and broke the wheel. [[[[[yikes]]]]]]].

Beautiful space, and you are making more space! You will have a museum and will be able to charge admission!

Oh I am having fun out here right now working on my DD's quilt! Hopefully it will be ready to quilt sometime this week end or the first of next week. I am using my 1921 Singer 66 "Red Eye" to sew up the blocks for it and will probably swap heads out to my Universal 15 to quilt it.

It is so much fun to work in and with the weather so nice I can throw the windows open and let the breeze come on through. I can not wait to start adding onto it after my sore finger heals up in a few weeks.
