Default Old Quilt My Mom Found

My mom has been cleaning out things in a couple rooms and found this old quilt. She says it was on her bed as a child and she thinks it's at least 100 years old. We're not sure who in the family made it but she thinks it was her great-aunt. It's in rough shape in a few places but the hand quilting is pretty neat. Each block is comprised of 1 inch blocks with 4 setting triangles. Each row is perfectly straight. I can't do that even on a machine!

This is a treasure for your mother and yourself.

I had one that my grandmother made from used clothing and the batting was from men's long underwear. It had reached the point where it was not repairable, and I could not bring myself to throw it out. I found frames that would show it off, and cut the better parts into three rectangles. I framed these rectangles and gave them to my sisters as a gift. We all have grandma's quilt hanging on our wall, safely behind glass. We know that it will mean nothing to the next generation, but it still has meaning for us, and it isn't folded away in a drawer.

Just thought I would share what I had done with one I had.
