Thanks for the great feedback everyone! Yes, I've charged her the same amount and I was actually surprised how quick this method was to do. I called her after I had it on my frame and told her I'd been looking at it for a day and just couldn't bring myself to use a panto on it. I told her I felt like a modern panto on an old quilt top was just wrong. I don't think an allover panto would have been much quicker to do either.

Those alternate squares are 4 half square triangles, fussy cut so that the straight lines of the fabric print matched in the corners. Made for an awesome effect. Plus, I couldn't find a 'block" - this must have been sewn together piece by piece. All of the blocks are interlocking. I thought the quilt top was amazing because of it.

Those 'old' quilt tops have so much character and oh the stories they could tell. What a wonderful person you are for doing the quilting the way you did. I'm echoing everyone else here but it really is a superb job. Thanks so much for sharing. I do admire the quilter who made this years ago too. Hope she is watching and smiling!

I wish it could have been hand quilted due to its age but alas it was machine quilted in the best way possible. You did a great job of it with just the right amount. Good Job!

Beautiful quilt. The quilt its self is great but adding the right quilting that you did made it just pop!!!
