The second one looks more like it's floating to me...like the mottled area is a shadow. But I like the darker star in your first block. I wonder what it would look like with the orange star and the mottled fabric for the shadow??

I like the first one better .

The contrast btwn the star and the background.

Then the bold black strips really grab Your attention .

I think #1 is more striking because of the contrast.

Of course , It is just my view. There can be so many views on one subject.Either way You have done nice work and You are enjoying Your craft. What can be better than that .
