I like the first one, I think I would have use the orange as my center in the second one.I think it would have popped more.

The first one.

Reverse the colors in the second one and make the darker color the center and the center color the outer color and it will look great.

I would like to receive either, but love how the star dominates in the first one. If you are looking for a "star" quilt, I would go with it. The second strikes me as more of a "seasonal" block than a "star" block (hope that makes sense).
