    I hope you haven't sewn all 6 triangles together into your hexagons. To avoid Y seams, you only sew 3 triangles together for each half of the hexagon. Pin the 2 halves together on your design wall. Then when time to sew the top together, you sew in strips. The 2 halves will appear as one whole hexagon when the 2 halves from adjoining strips get sewn to each other. Like I said before - then you have no Y seams to deal with, just straight seams.
