    Oh Mary Ann......dear, sweet, analyst of grammar, Mary Ann....... :-D I believe the words in the song are meant for the listener to determine whether s/he wants to believe in a people eater that happens to be purple, or to envision purple people that are being eaten. It is a multi-faceted song. You crack me up girl! And thanks for the compliment! I hope she loves it!
