    when I was a kid people rarely left the heat on at night so quilts were a necessity so of course we used them and sadly used them up, now I long for one of those that we used to point out the fabric from each others garments that she had made. She made all her dresses and aprons so there was a lot of her in the quilts in more ways than one! When she made my little outfits she always made one for my doll too. Sadly I don't have any of them now. At least I learned a lesson, I've saved a few very special things from my 2 girls childhoods so they will have momentos when I and their grandmother are gone.

    Beautiful work, Kathy. You've brought back good memories of my Granny, she wore a dress every day of her life, AND apron. If it was really cold she would sometimes put on a pair of cotton stockings instead of going barelegged. That was the result of raising 7 children during the depression and before...wish I had just one of those dresses or aprons.
