    This is beautiful and I agree the choice of colours is what makes it. Go ahead and applique the borders, it will look great!

    Beautiful top! I see that the pattern you use ends with a straight edge so you don't need to have the scallops unless you want them. Maybe you can add the background fabric as a wide border and mimic the last curve with you vines and flowers? What is the name of the pattern you used? I like how the football shapes are pieced.

    That is very pretty, and I think I would have to keep it also. Flowers on the border would set this off.
