I am making this signature quilt for a boss that is leaving us...what do you think of the sashing? She wanted blue, green and browns. The signature part was my idea. All she knows is that she will be getting a quilt as she won my services at our holiday party. I've been chipping away at this slowly as she will not depart until the end of June. So what do you think???

No suggestions on the sashing because im still learning what that is all about but I love the signature quilt idea. Your boss is going to love this and think of all the memories she will be able to look back on every time she looks at it.

You lose the interesting secondary patterns the blocks create when you use sashing. Try it without and see what it looks like.

Not sure about the sashing. Great idea though. I was going to do a quilt with photos with pictures from one of our office Christmas parties and have everyone sign the back of it for my boss. She pass two days before Thanksgiving 2009, never got a chance to start it. Thanks for sharing.

The picture is very dark so can't really recommend anything. How wonderful she is getting a quilt, and love the signature idea. You are doing a great job!

Can't really tell but I'd like to see it with beige sashing to make the blocks pop.

I like the idea of sashing, but I think I would go with something a bit lighter.

I think I'd like to see it without the sashing, but if you are going to do a sashing I'd use something a little lighter in color. With that sashing I think it makes it too dark.

Great idea, and can't wait to see it finished.
