    What about in the first layout moving each of the two bottom hearts over one vertical column so the hearts are in the outside columns and the 2 middle columns? It would then be balanced.

    Stick some spanner shapes in the other blocks so that it really is a 'his and hers' quilt...

    How about just doing the blocks on the outside with hearts.
    It would look like another border. Just a thought.

    i think i would use just 1 in the bottom corner with there names & the date on it.

    of course, my applique isn't all that hot, so that could be why i like just one.
