A great block. Like looking through a kaleidoscope. Some many patterns. Tea dye it if you don't love the finished project.

I Love it. And don't think it is to modern. Did you say it was a day and night? The ones I have seen don't look like that square.

Oftentimes, styles are mixed. I think the important thing here is that you have the colors she likes. I's say continue with this design.

What a great friend you are! I am part of a nonprofit that gives gift bags to chemo patients on their first day of chemo in the hospital and we always include a blanket or fleece or afghan of some kind (like to do hand made when we have them, but usually store bought). Some (I think most) of the chemo drugs make people get cold. I know I have ALWAYS "run hot" and when I was in chemo last year, even during the summer months, I always was under a blanket in the lab.

I think it's great, and I think it will work really well with 'primitives'. In a way, it reminds of some of the great two colour antique quilts you see in books from time to time. And I love the suggestion of making it reversible. Hope we get to see the finished product.

I agree with justwannaquilt. I think if you used a cream or light tan, it would be more in keeping with primitives. The blocks look great. Wish I could get points to line up as perfectly as yours. Either way you go, bet she will love it and you for making it.

I really like the block. It's very striking with the 2 colors and the angles. When I think of primitive though I think of muddy colors more like the civil war fabrics, etc. But I also think anyone would love to receive your quilt as a gift. It's from you and you're putting your heart into it and that's what really counts most and she will see and feel that and be happy.

If she has all antiques, is her room dark? This would be perfect? I like it.
