I think it looks great! I'd add a narrow black border to the outside or bind in black to finish the look.

I know I'm going bonkers now. Looking at your block all I saw was Moose ankles and hooves. Like the blocks though.

Others are saying exactly what I was thinking...a narrow, solid color border is needed to frame the center and separate from the border. I'm not sure about the border, but I think it can work if a narrow border keeps it away from the pieced part.

I think a solid border would look better. Actually, how about a narrow grey inner border and a maroon outer border (variation on nygal's idea).

I don't think the border does anything for the quilt. Take them off and use the light color you already have in it if you have enough. It is so well done.

Ditto to thimblebug6000's comment. Also if you have enough of the lightest pattern to make a small sash around then the border you have will make everything pop. A friend of mine who has quilted for years tipped me this; when you put the material together i.e. a 9patch then try a strip for the slim outside border then another for the larger border. I don't think it's too busy but I do think it needs something to break it up.

How about a more narrow border of print and then finish with a wider marroon border?

I agree with Sarah. The geometric and floral do not like each other.
