this way you can make either one small panel or you can make 6 and end up with the same quilt that i'll have.
your quilt is beautiful and you are very talented. i have always wanted to make a geometric quilt so now thanks to you doing a tute i have at least a chance of it working out. I have 2 sons who so far i havent been able to think of anything to make that they would like but i bet they would love this!
so thanks again in advance and i will be looking out for your tute!

I look forward to the tutorial too - I hope we don't have to wait three years to see it?

KLue that is one beautiful quilt!!! Is the fabric for the center squares shinier that the outer squares, or is that from the lighting and part of the optical illusion?

I love illusion quilts; they make you just stand there and look and look!
You are a very clever lady to design this! Now, you take care and not forget us little people here when you get famous!

the camera didn't catch the fabric as well as it should have - the attached pic is more true to the fabric.

the fabric is a gradation of color and i used brown (which went from chocolate to cream) and green (which went from forest to to grass). since the tone changes across with width of the fabric it appears to have a light source shining on it.

then when i cut up the fabric i tried to put the dark sections into the small cuts and the light sections into the large cuts.

the small section are 1/4 (the cut is made at 0.75) and the largest sections are 2 (the cut is made at 2.5).

its really simple to put together and when i do the tute you guys will see how easy these are.

you just sew strips together, then cut them up, and sew them back together - its what some people call strata quilting.
