I made a similar quilt a few years ago and at the very end, as I was assembling blocks, it needed just a little something to break up the intensity....so I tried a couple of things and ended up using a deep turquoise batik----a small square in the center of each block and then a 1" inner border. I liked it a lot better this way----just an idea for those considering this kind of quilt!

I think batiks were the perfect fabric choice for an all orange quilt. Perhaps binding colors could incooperate a small amount of orange blended with rust/browns would give it the right mixed touch. I'm sure your friend is going to love this and all the creativity you put into her quilt.

I really like it, orange can be very under-rated.

I am not an "orange" person (but love fall colors when they are put together in some way) and I love this orange quilt - especially since the fabrics are batiks! Bet your friend will love this too.
