I'll take a picture then and post it. I might even take pictures of all of them and you can pick the one you want.

I originally made these for another butterfly quilt like the one I showed off before ...

But, it became a UFO and I won't be going back to it. I've decided that I"m going to frame some of the blocks in a matted frame and hang on the wall and some others are going to become kitchen decorative hot pads -- not intended to be used as hot pads, just intended to be left on the counter top.

I'm going to try to sell them at the craft show I'm going to in July.

They're blocks like these. You can see them close up if you download.

Thanks. Back when my mom first showed me how to sew, she had me doing a bunch of embroidery things on her machine (since I didn't have any fabric and she didn't want me using up all hers) and she gave me a bunch of her scraps and showed me how to crazy patch the blocks.

When I finished the blocks, I actually went out and chose that blue border/sashing to finish it.

But, that was a teaching project that my mom supplied me with to get me working on the sewing machines. I can't believe she let me sit there with that fancy embroidery machine and make all those blocks. She wouldn't let me do it unless she was supervising.

And I gave that to a colleague who retired and moved out of state as a housewarming gift for her new home. I had decided to make another one, but changed my mind and now I'm going to do other things with the blocks.

That is so pretty quiltwoman - so different. Is it pieced or embroidery, or hand-sewn?

Hmmmm. weeeeelllll....it's sort of a trial and error thing... I guess you'd call it reverse applique??? I had the yellow hand-dyed fabric so I made an "overlay in black" of the butterfly.

All of it is done by machine--trust me, I am NOT that patient!
